Phlebotomy Workshop
This workshop is intended for medical students or individuals like you who are already working in the medical field. This is the hybrid version of the workshop. The first part is self paced. Once you have successfully completed all three 3 parts please speak to your instructor to sign up for the lab practice portion of the workshop. This will require you to meet in person for a total of 16 hours of practical instruction.
The workshop can be followed with an optional 2-week
clinical externship and CPR training at additional cost. If you would like to add the optional clinical externship please keep in mind the schedule will be Monday- Friday for 6-8hrs
per day. If you would like to get CPR training please speak to your instructor about the specific schedule. The CPR schedule can differ for individual needs but can take 1 to 3 days to complete.
As mentioned above the virtual portion of this workshop is self paced and consists of 3 parts.
PART ONE: Bloodborne Pathogens, Safety Techniques, and Handwashing
PART TWO: Infection Control, Collection Procedures, and Order of Draw
PART THREE: HIPAA, Patient Approach, and Preforming Venipuncture
Each section will include 3 lessons with an assessment after each part. Once those parts are complete you will have access to the Board Review. The Board Review will be accessible to you for 30 days. Once you have scored a 85% please inform your instructor so you can be scheduled to take your board exam.
